Christmas Celebrations at The Mother Teresa Joy Home for the Aged

On the 22nd of December, 2022, a festive Christmas celebration was held at The Mother Teresa Joy Home for the Aged in Thanjavur. This special event was organized by the staff and students of The Ramya Sathiyanathan Polytechnic College in Budhalur, in partnership with The Mother Teresa Foundation.

A group of 40 students plus staff from the college participated in the celebration, bringing joy and cheer to the elderly residents of the home. The young volunteers entertained the elders with a variety of performances, including singing, dancing, plays, and games.

The elders were delighted to interact with the students and share their life experiences with them. It was a heartwarming sight to see the generations coming together to celebrate the holiday season. The students and staff also took the time to decorate the home and bring some holiday cheer to the residents.

The Chairman of the Foundation, Dr. AR Savarimuthu was the chief guest for the event along with other trustees, Mr. AR Sampath Raghavan and Rtn. H. Govindaraju. Preparations for this event was organised by the headmaster of the college, Mr. Kumaran. The college’s professors, Mr. Sathya, Mrs. Uma Maheswari and Mr. Rajasekaran co-ordinated with The Foundation’s Joy Home Program Co-ordinator P Jerome and Wardens Ms. Prabhavathy and Ms. Mercy Vinoliya

Overall, it was a successful and meaningful celebration that brought joy and happiness to both the students and the elderly residents of the home. It was a great reminder of the importance of giving back to our communities and spreading joy and love during the holiday season.
