Dr. Sr. Victoria, M.S.W., M.Phil., Ph.D., SET, is an accomplished academic leader, educationist, and social development practitioner with over 25 years of distinguished experience in higher education, research, and community empowerment. She currently serves as the Principal of Bon Secours College for Women (Autonomous), Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India, where she has been providing visionary leadership since 2013.
Under her leadership, the institution has strengthened its academic standards, research culture, and community engagement initiatives, contributing significantly to the advancement of women’s education and empowerment. Her administrative experience includes 13 years as Principal, 3 years as Vice Principal, and 9 years as Head of the Department of Social Work, reflecting her strong commitment to institutional growth and academic excellence.
Dr. Sr. Victoria’s scholarly work focuses on women’s empowerment, rural development, child labour issues, and community-based social transformation. Through her research and outreach activities, she has actively contributed to addressing critical social challenges and promoting inclusive development.
She has made notable academic contributions, including authoring three books, publishing 24 research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals, and presenting 38 research papers at various academic conferences. She has also played a vital role in promoting academic discourse by successfully organizing 13 international conferences, 12 national seminars, and 15 state-level academic programmes.
As a committed mentor and research guide, Dr. Sr. Victoria has guided 152 Master of Social Work (MSW) students and 12 M.Phil. scholars, and she is currently supervising four Ph.D. research scholars. Her dedication to academic development is further reflected in her completion of 18 professional certificate courses and participation in 31 faculty development and training programmes.
Beyond academics, she has held several important administrative and leadership positions, including NAAC Coordinator, Board of Studies Member, Chief Examiner for University Examinations, and Headmistress of five English-medium schools in Tamil Nadu. She has also served as Project Coordinator for Tsunami Rehabilitation and School Upgradation Projects, demonstrating her deep commitment to community development and social welfare.
In recognition of her exceptional contributions to education and social empowerment, Dr. Sr. Victoria has received numerous prestigious honours, including the Best Field Worker Award (2000), Best Educationist Award (2015), Tamil Cultural Excellence Award,(2016) Motivator of the Year Award (2017), Vetrippen – Victorious Woman Award (2018), Women Achiever Award (2019), Mahatma Gandhi Award for Best Performance in Women Empowerment (2019), Gnana Guru Virudhu (2021) , and the Education Excellence Award (2025), among others.
Since 2018, she has also been serving as a Member of the NAAC Peer Team, contributing significantly to the accreditation, assessment, and quality enhancement of higher educational institutions across India.
