The Mother Teresa Foundation, Thanjavur, set up a counselling camp at Rameswaram for the second year in a row to meet with existing and new student beneficiaries. This was in following to the promise made by The Foundation last year to make this a continuous program.

The Chairman Dr. AR Savarimuthu and the staff of The Foundation interacted with the beneficiaries on a personal on-to-one level. Their current family and economical situations were ascertained. Their academic proficiency was also taken into consideration. Based on this, The Foundation took necessary steps to ensure that they have continued access to quality education.

The Foundation aims to reach out to more deserving students who lack the direct means to a good education due to socio-economic reasons.

Approximately 100 of the beneficiaries interviewed were selected to receive assistance under The Scholarship Program of The Mother Teresa Foundation.
