Rtn. Dr. M. Natarajan

Born in an agricultural family in 1944 at Thanjavur, Rtn. Dr. M. Natarajan, graduated in Commerce with diploma in Cooperative Management andcompleted his post graduation in Master of Business Administration.

He started his career as an Associate in Thirubuvanam Silk Weavers Coop. Society (“THICO Silks”) in Thirubuvanam, Tamil Nadu. As a result of his hard work and dedication, Dr. M. Natarajan rose up in ranks to become General Manager in 1990. During his 38 years of service, THICO Silks grew manifold earning him the “National Award for Outstanding Performance”. To make use of his skills and knowledge, Ministry of Commerce of Government of India nominated him to serve in many committees it constituted. 

As a Rotarian,  he joined in Rotary Club of Kumbakonam in 1980 and after holding many offices he became the first District Governor from a rural area of the Rotary District 2980. He attended 5 international conventions held at Singapore, Los Angel (USA), Birmingham (UK), Bangkok (Thailand) and Sydney (Australia).

He has been recipient of many awards which mainly include :

  • “National Award” from President of India for the distinguished achievement and performance in the coop. field.
  • Hon. Doctorate for his achievements in the field of Handloom Silk from Inter American University.
  • “Uzhaipal Uyarntha Utthamar” award conferred by Raj T.V.
  • “Best T.V. Serial Producer” award for “MANITHARKAL” serial his company produced.

For over 15 years he has been evincing very keen interest in the activities of The Foundation besides contributing his expertise and experience for its development.
