The Mother Teresa Foundation celebrated the 115th Birthday of Saint Mother Teresa with deep devotion, community service, and spiritual strength. To honor her legacy, the Foundation began a nine-day Novena prayer on 18th August, culminating in a grand celebration on 26th August at the Mother Teresa Joy Home for the Aged.


This year’s celebration was not only a spiritual tribute but also a humanitarian movement, reflecting the values of compassion and service that Saint Mother Teresa embodied.
Nine Days of Novena Prayer


- The Novena began with a flag hoisting ceremony, led by Rev. Father Paulraj, followed by the first day of prayer and Holy Mass.
- Each day, priests closely associated with the Mother Teresa Foundation led spiritual programs, guiding participants in prayer, devotion, and reflection on Saint Mother Teresa’s life of selfless service.
- On the final day (26th August), the Joy Home for the Aged was filled with faith, joy, and blessings as devotees, priests, nuns, and beneficiaries gathered for the grand culmination.
Grand Birthday Celebration on 26th August The 115th Birthday Celebration of Saint Mother Teresa was marked by both spiritual and welfare programs:

Bishop’s Special Prayers: The chief guest, Rev. Dr. T. Sahayaraj, Bishop of Thanjavur, blessed the gathering and honored the occasion with heartfelt prayers.

- Holy Mass & Blessings: The con-celebrated Holy Mass was led by Rev. Father Periyannan along with 30 priests and 50 nuns.
- Scholarship Support: On behalf of the Foundation, the Bishop distributed scholarships to underprivileged college students to support their higher education.
- Livelihood Assistance: Two push carts were provided to differently-abled individuals to help them start small self-employment ventures.
- Community Participation: More than 400 people, including beneficiaries and well-wishers, joined the celebrations with great enthusiasm.




Joyful Celebrations at Joy Home for the Aged
The event wasn’t just about prayers; it was filled with joy and cultural unity:

- Cultural Performances: The occupants of the Joy Home for the Aged showcased cultural programs, spreading cheer and celebrating with devotion.
- Special Gifts & Food: The Bishop personally provided gifts to the elderly residents, while all participants were served special meals as part of the celebration.
- Devotees’ Participation: Hundreds of devotees joined all nine days of Novena prayers and experienced the blessings of Saint Mother Teresa.
