Joyful Christmas & New Year Celebration at Thangachimadam: A Heartwarming Festivity for Single Mothers and Children

Christmas & New Year Celebration

Mother Teresa Foundation in association with Rameswaram Nanguram Kaimpengal (widows) Rehabilitation Society organised Christmas and New Year celebrations with spiritual fervour and fun.

Rev. Fr. Saminathan, Parish Priest and Advisor, Mr. Samson, prominent village head, Rev. Fr. Albert, Sr. Alice, Superior of Annai Scholastica Arts & Science College were the notable personalities who graced the function along with single mothers and their children.

Highlights of function

The function was organized by the Society under the guidance of The Mother Teresa Foundation, Thanjavur. Our Chairman Dr. AR. Savarimuthu, delivered Christmas message and New Year greetings which was followed by orientation by him for the benefit of the society members. Rev. Fathers conveyed their blessings as a part of this function. Mr. Samson, village head, expressing his deep sense of appreciation for the benevolent service being done by the Foundation for the betterment of the single mothers of fishermen community assured all possible support to promote our endeavors.

The most prominent event of the show was the inauguration of Rameswaram Nanguram Kaimpengal (widows) Rehabilitation Society.

The registration certificate of the Society was handed over to the President and office bearers of the Society by our Chairman along with other prominent guests including Parish Priest Rev. Fr. R. Saminathan, who has taken all initiatives for its formation.

Fun Galore

As a part of this program novel games were conducted for the single mothers and their children in which they participated enthusiastically. Prizes were distributed for the winners and mementoes given to all the participants to mark this occasion.

Culturals including dance and drama were staged by the students sponsored by Mother Teresa Foundation which received all out appreciation from the gathering. Mementoes were distributed to all the participants.

Encouraging the students

Our Chairman assessed the academic skills of the students under our Scholarship program and encouraged them by providing special gifts to those who excelled in the quarterly examination and motivated others to emulate them.

Christmas cake cutting

To add religious fervour to the occasion Christmas cake was cut by our children and distributed to all the participants. It was followed by special lunch.

Support to poor families

Rice and groceries were distributed to the poor families by our Foundation to mark this occasion.

Glorius funfilled end

The entire occasion which has enthused the participants ended with arrival of Santa Claus. The children enjoyed this moment and overwhelmingly danced and sang with Santa Claus.
