The Chairman Dr. AR Savarimuthu and our team visited the homes of the beneficiaries of The Mother Teresa Scholarship Program who are residents of the island of Rameswaram.

With personal one-on-one conversations we learned a lot about the real world situations of these families and their day to day struggles. This has given us a lot of insight and ideas as to how to serve this extremely downtrodden society.

Widows are generally extremely marginalised and ostracised in this community, so, The Mother Teresa Foundation aims to work towards removing the social stigma surrounding widowhood. We aim to provide the ways and means to help them bring themselves up out of their current poverty.
