Empowering women is the foundation of a stronger society. With this vision, the Mother Teresa Foundation continues to implement impactful welfare initiatives that support women facing social and economic challenges.
As part of this mission, a special Women Empowerment Awareness Program titled “Thadaigalai Thaandi”(Overcoming Barriers) was successfully conducted at Mother Teresa Anbu Illam. The program aimed to motivate women to overcome life’s obstacles, build confidence, and move towards self-reliance.


Women Empowerment Awareness Program – Inspiring Leadership and Thoughtful Guidance
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries who shared valuable insights and encouragement.
The Chief Guest, DR. P. Hariran, Dean of the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, delivered a powerful address highlighting the importance of self-confidence, education, and social responsibility among women. He encouraged participants to recognize their inner strength and actively contribute to society.

Guidance Towards Employment and Self-Reliance
As a special guest, Dr. T. Senthil Kumar, Professor and Dean of University College of Engineering Tiruchirappalli, shared practical knowledge on employment opportunities and appreciated the Foundation’s consistent efforts in uplifting vulnerable communities

He spoke about:
- Self-employment and entrepreneurship
- Private sector job opportunities
- Work-from-home possibilities
- Accessing bank loans and expanding small businesses
His session provided clear direction for women to achieve financial independence and build sustainable livelihoods.
Encouraging Women to Face Life with Confidence
Rev Dr. Sr. Victoria, Principal of Bon Secours College for Women (Autonomous),Thanjavur, delivered an inspiring message on courage and resilience. She encouraged women to face societal challenges with confidence and determination.

Other esteemed speakers including, Marimuthu, Founder of Aranya Health Care, Trichy. and Raguprasath from Kuligs Private Limited shared valuable insights on self-employment, practical business approaches, and implementation strategies.


Their combined guidance equipped participants with both motivation and actionable knowledge.
Meaningful Support Through Welfare Initiatives
The program was not limited to awareness alone, it also provided tangible support to beneficiaries.
As part of the event:
- 22 students received educational scholarships worth ₹2,17,500
- 15 women received tailoring training certificates from the Foundation’s center
- 47 beneficiaries received Learning License Registration (LLR) certificates under the free driving license initiative



These efforts directly contribute to improving education, skill development, and livelihood opportunities for women and youth.
A Gathering of Strength and Hope
The program witnessed the participation of more than 300 beneficiaries, making it a vibrant and impactful event. The atmosphere was filled with positivity, learning, and encouragement.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to gain knowledge, receive support, and connect with inspiring leaders. The Foundation also ensured that all attendees were provided with lunch, adding warmth and care to the event.
