Single Mothers' Rehabilitation Program

Restoring dignity, strengthening hope, securing brighter futures.

India ranks 130 out of 193 countries on the Human Development Index (HDI).

Tamil Nadu stands 15th among Indian States and Union Territories. Although there is no exclusive global UN ranking specifically for the status of single mothers, their condition is closely linked to broader indicators such as gender equality, human development, access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities.

Recognizing these challenges, the Mother Teresa Foundation launched the Mother Teresa Single Mothers’ Rehabilitation Program in 2022 to address the social and economic barriers that hinder the progress of single mothers. Through this initiative, the Foundation adopts a comprehensive and sustainable approach to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty and vulnerability.
