Education has the power to change lives, open new doors, and create futures filled with possibility. At Mother Teresa Foundation, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of their circumstances.
This belief guided us to organize the Scholarship Counselling Program Kottaikadu, a meaningful initiative held at Kottaikadu Village to identify and support deserving children in need.
The program focused on children from vulnerable backgrounds including orphans, semi-orphans, destitute children, differently-abled children, and children of differently-abled parents. Through compassionate guidance and careful assessment, 34 students were selected to receive scholarships that will support their educational journey.
A Caring Approach to Identifying and Supporting Students
The Scholarship Counselling Program Kottaikadu was conducted in a warm, supportive environment where children and families felt safe, heard, and respected.
Our team met with:
- Previously enrolled scholarship beneficiaries (existing students)
- New applicants seeking scholarship support
For existing students, we:
- Reviewed their academic performance
- Verified attendance percentages
- Discussed their progress, struggles, goals, and emotional well-being
This helped ensure that continuous support is reaching students who are using opportunities responsibly and sincerely working toward their studies.
For new applicants, we:
- Conducted detailed counselling conversations
- Verified family background and financial difficulty
- Understood educational needs, challenges, and aspirations
This ensured that the help goes to those who truly need it most.

Many of the children selected through the Scholarship Counselling Program Kottaikadu face significant struggles:
- Some have lost one or both parents.
- Some belong to families with no stable income.
- Some are cared for by single mothers or grandparents.
- Some live with disability or have caregivers who are differently-abled.
Yet, each child carries a dream — to learn, to become independent, to build a better life.
