On June 23, 2025, the Mother Teresa Foundation marked World Widows Day with an inspiring event dedicated to Empowering Single Mothers on World Widows Day. Held in Thanjavur, the gathering brought together over 250 participants, transforming pain into purpose and isolation into opportunity.

The Foundation’s vision was clear: equip widows with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to launch small businesses, secure their children’s education, and reclaim their independence.

- 🎓 67 meritorious students from financially backward widowed families received scholarships totaling ₹5,20,360, giving them a solid start for the academic year.
- 🧵 6 widows were gifted new tailoring machines, empowering them to start home-based businesses for financial stability.
- 💊 A 12-year-old differently-abled girl was provided a monthly medicine package, ensuring essential care.

Additionally, over 250 widows received thoughtful gifts and a special lunch—turning a day of remembrance into one of hope and solidarity.
