Despite running a small flower shop and Betel Leaf shop together in Pookkara Street, Both Kavitha struggled financially. Her shop stood on a weak and unsafe structure—its floor was built above an open drainage channel. During monsoons, water overflowed into the shop, damaging the area and putting Both Kavitha’s livelihood at risk.

How the Mother Teresa Foundation Helped
Through its Community Development Program, the Mother Teresa Foundation took action:
✅ Shop Renovation
- Reconstructed the unsafe floor above the drainage.
- Installed a sturdy metal sheet base to prevent collapse.
- Ensured the area was safe and hygienic, especially during monsoon.

✅ Long-Term Vision
- Instead of providing short-term relief, the Foundation chose sustainable support.
- Further plans are in place to aid Monisha’s tailoring practice and guide the children’s education.

- Have children who are still in school or unemployed.
Benefits of the Program:
- Economic support (shop renovations, income stability).
- Educational support for children.
- Skill development for mothers and daughters.
