The Mother Teresa 115th Birthday Celebration was held with heartfelt devotion at Thangachimadam, a serene fishing village on Rameshwaram Island. For decades, the Mother Teresa Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of the fisherman community’s single mothers, helping them sustain their livelihoods—irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.
This year’s celebration was more than just a tribute—it was an outpouring of compassion and empowerment for over 200 beneficiaries.

🎉 A Celebration Graced by Community Leaders
The event was presided over by respected village community leader Mr. Samson, with former president of Thangachimadam Mary Queen as the chief guest. Mr. Prabhu, correspondent of Yagappa Higher Secondary School, and other dignitaries added warmth and prestige to the occasion.

Their presence not only honoured Saint Mother Teresa’s legacy but also inspired the community to carry forward her values of kindness and service.
🎓 Scholarships and Educational Support for 75 Students
To commemorate the Mother Teresa 115th Birthday Celebration, the Foundation awarded scholarships to 75 children from the fisherman community for both school and college studies.

Alongside financial aid, students received essential stationery kits to support their academic journey.
Among them, four outstanding achievers who excelled in their public examinations were honoured on stage and will continue receiving higher education support from the Foundation.
Hasna M Grade 10th scored 470 out of 500.
Rejoice Pritni R Grade 12th scored 549 out of 600.
Riyas P Grade 12th scored 543 out of 600.
Anthony Anjel S Grade 12th scored 509 out of 600.

❤️ Livelihood Aid for 18 Destitute Single Mothers
Eighteen elderly, single mothers from the community—many widowed due to sea tragedies—were provided with:
- 🛍 Rice and groceries
- đź’Š Essential medicines
- 🕊 Emotional encouragement
These women often struggle silently to survive, but with this support, they can now live with dignity and hope.



The celebration ended with a beautifully decorated birthday cake in honour of Saint Mother Teresa, followed by a special dinner for all attendees.



Smiles, laughter, and heartfelt gratitude filled the air—a true reminder of the power of community and kindness.
While the celebration lasted a day, its impact will resonate for months:
- Students are more motivated to excel in studies.
- Single mothers feel supported in their daily survival.
- The community feels valued, seen, and inspired.
