Born into a family of daily wage laborers, Chandra’s life was filled with hardships from the start. After losing her father in 2007 due to illness and her mother to suicide at just 40, Chandra faced unimaginable challenges alone.
To make things worse, she lost her eyesight in 2007 while working in the fields. Since then, Chandra has lived in a dilapidated house near a slum, surviving each day with resilience despite her visual impairment.

Chandra’s small house lacked even the most basic facilities:

• No proper roof and flooring
• Damaged walls and unsafe structure
• No toilet, forcing her into vulnerable and dangerous situations, especially at night
• Absence of basic household items like a bed, vessels, fan, kitchen top, tables.

Living in these conditions wasn’t just uncomfortable — it was life-threatening.

Moved by her story, the Foundation:

✅ Provided funds and directly supervised the renovation, ensuring quality and timely completion

• Building a new toilet for safety and dignity
• Repairing walls and roof
• Installing essential household materials: steel bed, fan, vessels, table, stands, and storage
