The Mother Teresa Foundation commemorated the 113th Birthday of St. Mother Teresa at Rameswaram. The event was organised in association with The Rameswaram Nanguram Widows Rehabilitation Society (ராமேஸ்வரம் நங்கூரம் கைம்பெண்கள் மறுவாழ்வு சங்கம்).

The event was attended by more than 100 members who are widows and were ostracised from their society.

They were given free sarees and towels as gifts to commemorate Mother’s birthday and their children were supported by means of scholarships under The Mother Teresa Scholarship Program and stationery to help with their education.

The Mother Teresa Foundation aims to uplift this vulnerable section of the society to enable them to survive on their own.
